The Biopsychosocial Assessment Rubric
The BPS Assessment, Treatment Plan and Triage Rubric

This assignment is designed for you to demonstrate your knowledge of the key components of an assessment and how it will help you to determine whether your client has a mental disorder. It requires you to understand and apply the person-in-environment approach that is the hallmark of our work as social workers, understanding that a diagnosis cannot be made in a vacuum. To this end this assignment will focus on the following practice behaviors:

1. Students will develop and apply knowledge and skills related to multidimensional assessment of individuals related to biopsychosocial issues
2. Students will demonstrate knowledge of social work values, ethical dilemmas, and laws as related to assessment and diagnosis
3. Students will increase working knowledge of the DSM 5 system of classification of mental illness, including its strengths and limitations
